Dr. Kalra holds MBBS and MD degrees from Mumbai, and also obtained the DM (Nephrology) superspeciality degree from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, in 2003. He served as Senior Research Associate in the Department of Nephrology at AIIMS for a period of 18 months.
Dr. Kalra's clinical research experience has mainly been in post renal transplant patients with pulmonary infections and with special interest in the field of cardiorenal syndrome. His academic contribution includes reading papers in conferences, with over 30 publications in national and international journals, along with chapter contributions to books. Having been invited to various conferences as a guest speaker and for chairing scientific sessions, Dr. Kalra has had the privilege of regularly attending continuing medical education programmes.
With clinical experience of 14 years, Dr. Vikram Kalra's expertise extends to the field of intervention nephrology and renal transplantation, and he is well versed in various procedures such as AV fistula, shunt surgeries, temporary and permanent catheter placements for haemodialysis, and kidney biopsy.
